Week 104: Arroyo Vista

October 3, 2022

We had Preparation Day today, for our activity we played some pool and got some lunch. There were some times today that I was having a bit of a tough time, it became very real that I only have two weeks left as a missionary. But after talking with my family and getting to work tonight I'm doing much better. 

We gave two blessings to some members who have been having some hard health issues. I was glad to be able to help in that way. Especially since I got the day wrong but things worked out all right.

October 4, 2022

Not gonna lie, today was pretty slow, even though we had some good things happen. We got our studies out of the way and headed out to everything that we could think of doing. We stopped by the Gimeno's and had a visit, and the Dain's had us over for dinner. The problem we've run into is just that we have almost met everybody there is to meet in our Areabook, including members. So one of the things we're trying to do is street contact, but during the day, there is few people walking around. We are not stopped by any means, but things are just a little bit slower. 

We had a cool experience teaching someone named Saba, the wife of someone we were trying to reach. When we said we wanted to share a message about God with her husband, she invited us in to share it with her. So we were able to teach at a time we least expected. And we were led to be in a place where we could give a blessing to our previous Elder's quorum president. So we were definitely led by the Lord, but things were just a little bit slower, it'll be a good day tomorrow.

October 5, 2022

Today we went out during the morning, got some work done. We had some studies later on, but it was a little different today. For our companionship study, we tuned into an MTC workshop about asking questions. And for our additional study, we studied with the Zone leaders. 

For the rest of the day we stopped by and saw a bunch of people, and then we walked around Peach Hill and found some more people to have us back at another time. I really loved this early evening, we had a lot of fun and Elder George is doing more than ever recently. Finished off our night with a visit with the Jones' family, and did some Come Follow Me. Very grateful on how the day turned out, we were very blessed. Tomorrow, I think, will be a good day as well, looking forward to it.

October 6, 2022

Today we slammed the studies and did a weekly planning, so it was later in the day that we had a lesson with Jeffrey. It went really well, and he is committed to reading the Book of Mormon and seeking to know if it's true. We're glad to keep going with him and helping to teach him about the Book of Mormon. After some finding, we had visits with the Loaiza's and the Cronquist's. We were able to stay busy and keep up all of the work we've been doing so far. Tomorrow should be good, we have a great district council planned for tomorrow. 

October 7, 2022

We had a district council today, and the people that gave discussions were Elder Anderson, Elder George, and Hermana Melville. We learned about how to use scriptures in teaching, preparing for the temple, and being successful missionaries. We had a lesson with the Moody's and Sister Dorothy. It was kind of tough because it is really starting to get dark earlier, and that makes it a little more difficult to talk to more people. but that just means that we switch up our schedule a little bit. 

Saturday tomorrow, and it's another walk day. We'll see what happens. I'm going to start packing soon, I've started to throw some of my old stuff away.

October 8, 2022

Today was a walk day, which means we try to walk more than we usually do to talk to as many people as we can. We had a good day and talked to a bunch of people, and were led to some people that will have us back later. I'm thankful that God has done that for my companions and I time and time again. 

We were able to start teaching our new friend named Freddy. He was a referral from Brother Jones, so we had the easy job. We talked about the first two points of the Restoration, and we're going to set some personal goals with him next time. We also went by and visited with Joy, she is such an awesome person. We are trying to help her friend who has a lot of life issues. 

It was a great day, I am full of gratitude after this one. 

October 9, 2022

It was a good sacrament meeting, sadly no one could make it, but that's all right. We were so incredibly sauced out today, partly because it was fast Sunday. But once we got out there and got to work, things shaped up and we found the energy to do some stuff. We had dinner with the Oittmain's and a member visit with the Bryans. Finished off the week with some Facebook. We are trying to focus on doing Facebook on Elder George's account, because I won't be doing it for much longer.
