Week 89: Oxnard
June 20, 2022
A good Preparation Day on the books, we played basketball in the morning and played some cup pong later on with our district. After our office staff meeting and groceries, we had a great lesson with Andrea and taught the last half of the Plan of Salvation. Following that, we had a lesson with the Robles family and watched the Rome Italy temple video. That video always brings the Spirit. Good week ahead, we'll be in Simi tomorrow.

Crazy day, as soon as we got to Simi Valley for an exchange with Elder Strauss and Elder Chang, we got a call from President Carter that we needed to go up to Santa Barbara to bring something down from there to Thousand Oaks. Then we headed back for our exchange and barely made it to our lesson on time with Denise.
Once again, it's kind of rough going back into old areas for exchanges, but it was fun to be with Elder Chang. We even were made some fried rice for dinner. On the way back home, we had some SIM cards to pick up and other errands to run, so had a good time. Good day.

Today was pretty standard, we started the day off with service with Hermana Hatch and Furstenan for the Snyder's, we helped clear out the apartment across from ours and got to raid the stuff they had in there. Then we helped a lady named Lisa move some stuff in a storage unit, and got on with our day. Had a lesson with Socorro and Charlie. Then finished off the night playing the priority game with the Brooks'. A guy named Jerry gave us a ton of canning jars today, so we'll see who we can give these to.

We had a micro Zoom today, learned about Safeguards for technology, a new section of it on Eddapp. Then we had a little bit of office stuff, and then lunch.
After weekly planning, we visited Betty and walked around that neighborhood, met some people to come back by later. We had a lesson with the Grove's as well, we talked about President Nelson and how to know that he is a prophet. I believe they are looking for truth, they have just had a longer progression than others, nothing wrong with that. After our lesson, we dropped off some jars to Sister Liporada and visited the Villanueva's.
Now we are in Goleta after picking up a car in Carpinteria, heading up to San Luis Obispo tomorrow for our exchange.

Drove up to SLO in the morning, and met up with Elder Thomas and Bentley, then went our separate ways so we could go to the SLO district's council. I love that city, such a pretty place, with such a cool feel to it.
We then helped with a service project that was preparing homes for Afghan refugees. After some study and finding, we had some dinner and started our ride back. A lot of driving, but it was a fun ride with Elder Davies.

Today we did some more service for Rose Ann, she is such a great lady and has met with missionaries before. Then we dropped off some more jars to the Kinser's. Had some good finding, we will possibly do a church swap with our friends Armando and Rosa. Some great people we helped out.
We had another lesson with Roxana, and she just keeps doing better and better. She has one of those progressions where they have more light in their countenance every time you see them. She says she wants to believe, and I'm sure she will. Finished off the night with a bunch of Facebook.

Today Roxana and May came to church, and they both loved it. They got to meet some new members. Roxana came even though she didn't have much time and could only stay for one hour, which shows a lot. Other than that, had a good day. We made sure to get some good personal study in. We had a Zoom meeting, some lessons, and had some stop by's to do. It was a productive week, even though we spent some time outside of our area. We had a new missionary Zoom, and there are some great, new missionaries that have come in this transfer.
