Week 77: Newbury Park
March 28, 2022
Today was fairly uneventful, we had a good Preparation Day. It was raining outside, and so we stayed inside and played a lot of Pickleball. It's been nice to get to know all the same missionaries as last transfer more, because we didn't get switched around a lot. After dinner, we made the rounds, met Sister Green, and set up a visit with her. We also had a visit with the Johnson's and committed them to help make a post for our social media efforts. Going to be a good week.

Today was just another day, we had apartment inspections and some studies, and then our weekly ZLC. After that we did some service at James' Storehouse, got to sort some clothes for little foster kids, and some fulfilling work. Afterwards, some finding, which was successful, and we kept the ball rolling.
To be honest, there have been some tough times for different reasons. But things are always looking up. Just trying to keep that mission change happening. Can't believe I only have about six months left.

We went on exchanges today, we went with the Spanish Elders, I went with Elder Koffard. We had a great day, Elder Koffard is such a great elder. We had service that we did, and then made a really ghetto shanty frame. Her name is Maria, we might get to teach her in the future. we got to do some language study, and did some finding around good old Las Casitas. After getting some burritos at Ruperto's, we had sports night! An English Elders dream. After some calls and an exchange review, we called it a night. We got a few referrals today, and it was interesting that we really didn't talk to a ridiculous amount of Spanish-only speakers.

Today we had a micro Zoom, the focus of today was helping members create posts, and teaching our missionaries how to help receive more post submissions from our members. We did more service for Brother Marshall, we painted his railings. Service always gives you an awesome spiritual boost.
We have been trying to find a new way to find, something that's the secret the technique for this area. We had a lesson cancel, but we were able to contact Michael, so that was awesome. Other than that, we had a good day.
We received news last night that we're not allowed to watch General Conference this Saturday unless we are watching with a friend or with less-actives, or something. So that's tough, not something that we like. But life goes on. Today Elder Hales also put the milk in the pantry.

Start of the month, had a district council. Good discussions were give about several things, included being successful missionaries, improving our personal studies, and patience in the work. Afterwards we had a Zoom call where we learned we actually can watch General Conference tomorrow if we choose, so that was uplifting.
We had a good day, and did a lot of stopping by gray dots. We're trying to go by as many as we can before the transfer is over. We had good success with contacting, and were able to talk to some new people. We've been struggling to get many member visits recently, but we have set some up for the near future. Excited to hear from the leadership of the church tomorrow.

A really, really great day of General Conference. We watched it in the FHC in the church. We were even able to have a lot of our friends watch as well. There are a lot of things I liked, too many to talk about here, but there was something that I like that Elder Cook said. He said that conversion is the consistent accepting and following of God's will. A good definition of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. We had a really productive day otherwise, we were able to contact many people and meet more new people to go by. We had dinner with the McLeod's again, a really awesome family. I'm looking forwardto hearing President Nelson tomorrow, to see what the most important thing is for us to focus on for the next six months.

Another day of receiving revelation, I loved President Nelson's talk about gaining spiritual momentum. It's hard not to, right? If we can just have enough momentum, little setbacks don't matter so much anymore. It was great to have Conference again, and it went by so ridiculously fast. We had a good rest of our day, had a fun dinner with the Busche's; we always love hearing other people's perspective on a spiritual event. We had a lot of people watch Conference, and the Lord really blessed us this week. On to the next, it's going to be a very busy week.
