Week 71: Newbury Park

February 14, 2022

Today we went to the mall and had lunch with the districts in our Zone. We had to piggyback on Agoura District's activity because our district leader, Elder Chang, is sadly still sick. It was good to play some piano and have some fun.

We ran around visiting some people today, and had another visit with the Barrus'. Last week was good, and this week will be pretty busy, but as usual, we'll just take it one step at a time.

February 15, 2022

We had a very open-looking day today, but time proved to us otherwise. After ZLC, we visited some people, and then proceeded to take care of a bunch of Zone leader and tech stuff. We didn't get much going during contacting, but kept it going strong, and ended on a successful note. We were very determined to find someone tonight through social media, and we were blessed to be able to.

Sometimes things can be a little wearying, in body as well as in mind. But if there's one thing I've learned it's that there is always a brighter tomorrow. And if not tomorrow, then the next day. It's happened time and time again.

Also we had to save the Sister's lives from Ninja Rick.

We went on exchanges with the Assistants today, and we had a good time. Our mission leadership is trying to take a move back to the Missionary Standards, and move back any changes that were made to our schedule since the pandemic.

We did a lot of finding, we were able to find some people to teach and get a lot of numbers. It taught me a lot, Elder Davies is a great Elder. After we finished the day, we got some Dairy Queen and then we stayed the night. Another exchange tomorrow with Elder White and Elder Johnson.

February 17, 2022

Today we had another exchange, this time we went with Elder White and Elder Johnson. We had a good day, we were able to find some good people, and got a couple return appointments. Elder Johnson is a great Elder, he's from Kaysville. Learned some good stuff.

It's going to be great tomorrow to have a nice, normal day of missionary work and get to be in my own area. The week has been flying by, going into the weekend.

February 18, 2022

Today we found three people to teach! We had a call with a friend named Pamela over the phone this morning, a good way to kick off the day. We drove up to Westlake to go to the district council. Elder White has been a really good district leader, really stepped up to the challenge, he's a good Elder.

We had some studies, and had a lesson with Ruth and Ryan. They are some nice people, willing to give the Book of Mormon a chance. We kept up the work, and it has been fruitful.

There's nothing more you could ask for; teaching the Gospel, ministering to other missionaries, visiting the sick, and growing my testimony. All these happened today, and more. Ready for another exchange tomorrow.

February 19, 2022

I went on an exchange today with Elder Starkey. It was his first exchange on the mission, because he's only been out about two weeks. We had a really good day of contacting, talked to a lot of nice people, and we were able to start teaching a cool guy, a YSA-aged named Eric. Elder Starkey and I found great faith in the Lord's promise of hastening his work. We cleared out a lot of dots in our Areabook today, and we have already seen the blessings. Whenever we give the Lord more space to work, He really magnifies us in all that we do. We're going to have a busy day tomorrow, but busy is good.

February 20, 2022

Today we went to church, but sadly the Boyce's are out of town right now. We did have our friend Ninja Rick come to church, however. We didn't have much time to find today, but we did have very successful finding this week. We found some people with some good potential, and just did all in our power to keep the work going forward, and the Lord has blessed us for it.

We had another Just Serve meeting today, my heart is definitely more softened to service this time around. We had an awesome dinner with the Jacob's, and a member visit with the Vidlalovos Family. Week 2 over and done with.
