Week 70: Newbury Park
February 7, 2022
Today was the day where we all make our preparations for tomorrow's transfers. A good amount of the Zone is heading out, and our Zone, small as it is already, is getting a companionship taken out. So we'll have about 14 missionaries in our Zone. I'm excited to see Elder Hales tomorrow, it'll be a fun transfer. We spent our time saying bye to everyone, we really have a good ward, and it's going to be a good transfer.
I learned a lot in the past six weeks, and I learned a lot about myself. I think this next chapter is going to have a lot of highs.

Today was a busy, but very fulfilling day. The transfer train got in a little late, but that's ok, because we got right to it. We were able to find two people today, the Lord really blessed us with a strong start. We have some good tech stuff to handle now, it's going to be a fun challenge to mix in all of the new scheduling priorities that we now have. Elder Hales is the social media lead of the mission.
It was really nice to get to do an in-person visit with our member family tonight, you get to connect a lot better with them when you see them in person.

Today was another good day, we had a bunch of meetings, and did a ZLC to kick off the transfer. It was good, we have some awesome missionaries in the Zone, some good leadership. We had a good day of finding, and were able to start teaching someone named Jaylen. He's an awesome guy, he's very humble in his testimony, willing to learn. I've been having fun here with Elder Hales, he's a good Elder. It's going to keep looking up, and I'm hopeful for the future.

After a morning of studies, we did some weekly planning, and did a lesson with Natisse where talked about missionary work. She is super fired up and ready to bear her testimony!
We had a lot of time to do finding today, we've really been trying to whittle down the people who have shown interest in the past. We had a good dinner of burgers and salad, really pulled out all the stops. Had some good member visits, our ward is small but mighty. I've been trying to improve my teaching technique, and refine the way I teach and present the Gospel. Good day, the train keeps rolling.

Today we had a good start with some power yoga, courtesy of Albert. We had district council, it was good, the only problem was our beloved district leader is sick right now and had to Zoom in. We then took care of some tech meeting stuff, and then got to stop by a few people before dinner. We had a lesson with the Boyce's, and talked some more about baptism. They don't feel quite ready to be baptized yet, but they are still coming right along and doing great.
To finish the night, we got to go get some Munchy Meals as a district, I think probably counts as a sin.

We had a walk day today, and, like you do on walk day, really hit the pavement. We didn't have much success, but at the very end we were able to talk to this awesome guy named Mike and were able to teach him about why bad stuff happens to good people. And so the lesson we keep learning is that you can't lose faith, not for a second.
We had a member dinner tonight, and a member visit. A good day, we are excited for church tomorrow and hopefully seeing the Boyce's there. Things have been going well, I grew spiritually today.

Had a good day, Natisse is still coming to church! The Boyce's had things come up, but all is still rolling forward. We had some tech stuff to take care of, and then we were able to cut through some of the dots in our Areabook. There were two different occasions today where we knocked on the wrong door, and the people said we could come back. It just goes to show how God can use a couple of dumb missionaries to get this work accomplished. We had a good dinner with Bishop Johnson, and had some good food.
And we found out later tonight that our local Rams won the Super Bowl. Go team.
