Week 65: Newbury Park

January 3, 2022

We got quarantined today as we might have Covid, and so Nurse Jones is having us quarantine until Thursday when we can get tested. We kind of started to go crazy, because all we can do until Thursday is do Facebook and phone calls, so here we go. Not too much else to report on, that's kind of the story for the next week.

Today was another day of quarantine, but it wasn't too bad because we had a Zoom MLC. We have a few different missionaries who are symptomatic now, and so they need to quarantine as well.

Very interesting times for us and it felt like we were going crazy, only able to do Facebook finding and member visits. But the NyQuil, painkillers, and cough drops are getting the job done to keep us alive. Just going to turn in for the night, back at it tomorrow.

So today we learned that we are actually going to stay in quarantine until Monday, unless we are able to scrape up a negative test somehow. So we looked around for tests and everything, but they are all sold out and there is no time we can book something until after our sickness will probably be said and done.

We had a ZLC today over Zoom, so we can plan out our CDC this Friday. There is going to be a big focus on faith and goal setting, which are always very important to review. After that, we pretty much did some Stake Reports, and then some Facebook work, and then a Zoom member visit, and then we finished our night with some call-ins.

Today I felt much better, I think it was because we got the weaker strain of the virus. I took an at-home test today, and tested positive, so we are being extra careful now that we know we have Coronavirus. We were able to keep busy though, so that was a blessing.

We had a lesson with Natisse today, and she is chugging right along to her date on the 27th! We are going to be in daily contact with her to help her get there. We did a lot more Facebook today, and had two member visits. Also, because we have all had a bit of a morale decrease, we had a doctrinal master cahoot tonight. Fun way to end the night haha.

We had a Zoom CDC at 10:30 this morning, and it went well, as far as Zoom meetings go. We don't have Zoom Pro, so we had to stop and start the meeting every 40 minutes. I gave a discussion on how we can better make monthly goals for our areas, and have faith to accomplish them. After that, we could really only get all of our studies in and get some member visits set up.

After some Facebook finding and dinner, we had a Zoom call with Shane, Channing, and Charlotte, where we set them all on date for the 30th! So that is going to be an amazing week. If all goes well, that would be four baptisms! Not to mention my birthday is that week too.

January 8, 2022

Another day of quarantine. It was kind of slow today because we had nothing on our schedule other than studies and finding. I got my quad back from the Barrus' today, so my studies will be a little more effective now. We only have two more days of this, and then we're home free if we don't have any more symptoms. Elder Larson's voice is still struggling, but we are borrowing a member's humidifier, so hopefully that gets better soon. It's been a Facebook grind, and it's just a matter of time before we can get back out there and hit the streets.

January 9, 2022

Today was Sunday, but we weren't able to take the sacrament or watch church because the link for church was a Youtube link. So we got some more studies in, and did all of our usual things. Luckily we had a member-provided meal tonight, which thankfully broke up the monotony. We also had a new missionary testimony meeting. It's insane that Elder Strauss is training in Morro Bay for the third time. We had a missionary coordination afterwards, and then now we're just turning in for the night.
