Week 57: Goleta

November 8, 2021

A pretty standard Preparation Day, but we got to go to Ostrich-land with the Lompoc District today. Freaky animals. I wonder why God made birds so big. We also got to play some volleyball with our district. We had a lesson with Anthony tonight, and we made a lot of really good progress, he committed to Church! The lesson went a little long, so we were running around for a while, but it all ended up fine in the end. Built my testimony in lasting change through Christ today. 

November 9, 2021

We did some studies, a ZLC, and then some filming for a video that we're making where Elder Tree writes a poem. We also found two people in only a couple of hours of contacting! Their names are Lisa and Douglas. 

We had another awesome lesson with Keanna, she is doing great and marching right for the font. We also visited Victor, and got to do some member visits before we had a Zone Zoom. My testimony that God will help us find people to teach has grown, especially when we go out of our comfort zone and find at different times. 

November 10, 2021

We had a pretty normal day today. We did studies, some weekly planning, and other finding. We got to have a lesson with the Lishman's and with Charlotte! The Lishman's are preparing her for baptism in the long run. We also got to teach Diego. We just need to get his family in on the lessons. We also had a lesson with Anthony, and we decided that we need to reevaluate, and see if he wants to view things through a spiritual lens. So it's going good, and we are just preparing for Keanna's baptism. 

November 11, 2021

Today we did some service for a lady named Lisa. It was nice, because it turned into a lesson because she asked us tons and tons of questions about our church and what we believe. She asked for a new Book of Mormon, so we gave her one, and then she asked for two more for her mom and her roommate. We also started teaching someone named Lynn, who is a nice, smart lady. We had another lesson with Keanna, teaching her everything we can before her baptism, we're going to just barely squeak by for Sunday. We also got Munchy meals tonight. 

November 12, 2021

We had an awesome district council today, gained some great spiritual insight from Sister Rasmussen, Hermana Ngalu, and Elder Emmett. I don't know if I mentioned this earlier, but Elder Emmett is in a trio with us now. 

It was kind of funny, we contacted for about half an hour today where we met only people that were members haha. We also had Keanna's baptismal interview, and she crushed it! Super excited for her and for Sunday. We had another lesson with Anthony tonight, and sadly, we think he's mostly looking at things from kind of a "journalistic viewpoint" as Elder Tree puts it. So we really hope that he can change that around in the next few days. 

November 13, 2021

Today we were headless chickens and very busy. We were trying to find a baptismal jumpsuit for Keanna. That took up the majority of our day, and so there's not too much to write about. We did have a visit with Sister Reese-Upton and Sister Smith at Friendship Manor, which was fun. We visited the Ball family, it was good to see them again. 

November 14, 2021

Keanna got baptized today! We finally helped her get there, she was prepared right from the beginning. I was happy for Brother Azunna, he got to baptize and confirm her, being her father. She had a ton of family come in to support her. 

After the baptism and church, we ran around and tried to snag some member visits. Then we got to drive up to the Field's and have a breakfast dinner. After that, we did some finding, and got to get on the departing missionary testimony Zoom. Also found out today that I'm going to stay for another transfer here in Goleta with Elder Tree. We get to stay here and build on what we have already done.
