Week 27: Morro Bay

April 12, 2021

We had a fun Preparation Day, and we got a lot done. As a district, we met at the Institute building in SLO and had some fun playing ping pong, pool and chess, even though I lost at every single one of them. After we had dinner, we had a lesson with Kristen cancel, and then we knocked some doors and did some Facebook, and now we're turning in. Should be an interesting week, we're having the mission tour with Elder Whiting, so we have three combined district councils total throughout the week.

April 13, 2021

Today was a pretty good day, we had a combined district council with Elder and Sister Whiting. They flamed some missionaries, and it was pretty funny, but I'll probably get flamed tomorrow haha. Other than that, we had all four lessons cancel today. So pretty uneventful, just a lot to finding and studies. But it's so sad, Dan and Daniel aren't doing so well, and Dan has rescheduled us a ridiculous amount of times, so if it's not working out, then we have done literally all we can do. But the grind continues, and I honestly hope we can stay here another transfer, I feel like I still have some stuff to do here. 

April 14, 2021

Today was my 6 month mark, it's going by pretty fast. We had a good day today, and contacted a lot of people, but nothing too spectacular. We taught Warren, and he compared reading the scriptures to torture haha so I really hope we can get him progressing. We had some lessons cancel and a good phone call with Kristen. We also had some good member visits, and that was pretty much it. 

April 15, 2021

We found two new people today, one of them is Sarah. She has been having a pretty rough time raising her two boys, because the dad left and she's looking for a job. The Gospel can really help her, and help her boys Logan and Bradley. Bradley is 12 years old, and doesn't believe in God, but that's just because his dad was filling his head with atheist stuff. We also started teaching Renee, and she first met with missionaries for years off and on, but hopefully we can help her finally do it this time. Our last part of the mission tour ended today, and I have gotten some great insight on how to change into a better missionary. The work is really going forward here, and transfers are coming up, so we'll see what my fate is. 

April 16, 2021

Today we had an unplanned service opportunity, so we did that in Los Osos. Then we had a comp study with Elder Merling and Elder Overson, where we evaluated how much we've grown the last two transfers. Then we went up to Cambria to help Stephanie out with some more service. After that, did some studies, some dot knocking, and then got caught into going up to Cambria again for a member visit. Good day, the transfers are getting deadly close. Can't decide what I think will happen, only time will tell. 

April 17, 2021

Had a pretty awesome day today, we taught Sarah, and it was such a good lesson. The Restoration really made sense to her, and the Spirit was there the whole time. She's really awesome, and she's so ready for the gospel. We even gave her a blessing, because she's going through a rough time, so that will help. We also taught Warren, and we decided that he would read the Book of Mormon and pray about it and come to church, and we'll see if he gets his answer. We'll see how it goes. We had a lot of finding time, and we might have some potentials, but we'll see how things pan out. There was a lady that forcibly gave us a donation of $100 by shoving it down Elder Strauss' sweater about a week ago, and so we didn't know what to do with it. But today we bought everyone in the district a donut, tipped the donut people $40, bought McDonald's, and bought some flowers from a guy selling them on the side of the street. We gave him a Book of Mormon though, so I'll excuse it all that way. Also, Dan and Daniel are now on date for May 8th, it was kind of funny how it happened. We were just texting Dan, and then he said "May 8th for baptism." So pretty good stuff, we really hope that we can get them this time. The Lord is pouring out blessings and miracles in this area.

April 18, 2021

We got five people to church today, which was awesome, and hopefully that all had a good experience. We had every one of our three lessons cancel today, so that was a bummer, but we did a lot of finding and a lot of Facebook and Areabook, so we have good potentials. We've been doing good, so they'll probably keep us here. Never mind, we just got a call and they're white-washing us. I'm in disbelief and I'm really not looking forward to telling all of our members that. Some of them might not take it too well.
